My Arrest
One day in May, I had a light load of classes that day, and had taken a part time
job as a technician at California Microwave, I had just finished up with my FORTRAN
programming class, and was heading home to get ready for work.
On the way home, I stop by the 7-11 store and parked in an adjacent school yard.
Just as I got out of my car, a car pulled up in front, and another one pulled up
in back, and 4 men in suits jumped out and grabbed me. I was thrown against the car,
handcuffed, and was read my rights. I was taken to Santa Clara County and booked
for toll fraud, even though I hadn't done anything with the phone for 4 - 5 months.
I was released on OR, that evening, and a reporter from SJ Mercury offered me a ride
home. Although he was very interested in a story, I didn't give him much information,
other than the times and places of the arrest and the charges. I denied everything.
The case was resolved in about 5 months, and I got probation for 5 years.
