By far, one of my most favorite pastimes is
raving. Going to rave is like going home to family. When at these parties, I spend
MOST of my time dancing. Stopping ONLY to chill out and cool down. Doing this 4 times
a week is typical for me.
After spending 3 years raving, my earlier lower back problems are almost all gone,
and physically, I feel like I'm only 20 years old. Last summer, after raving all
night on Saturday, dancing till 8 am on Sunday, I ran the Bay to Breakers immediately
afterwards. So, the physical benefits to raving, and the exercises it provides, can't
be beat. I didn't really intend to run it, I basically was going to walk most of
it, but I got caught up in the flow, and next thing I remembered was passing the
6 mile mark.
I prefer the more "Underground" and less commercial raves, but most promoters
put me on their guest list, because I strive to put out a good vibe and pump a lot
of energy into the scene.
My Absolute favorite is the Sunset parties from Pacific Sound. These usually rotate
in different spots each time, but usually happen every Sunday. These Sunday afternoon
gatherings are a perfect place to bring the whole family. The links I've provided
below may lead you to information on how to find them. These are usually not advertised,
but it's easy to get hooked into the info flow.
