A scene from one of the many beaches. The water
is so dirty that swimming can be risky, but the locals are immune to the many kinds
of bacteria that can be found in the polutted sea. |
Another section of the beach as seen from the car,
on our way to some business meeting we had. |
One of the many odd "vehicles" we have
had to deal with. Cows are sacrid in India. |
Near the swanky Taj Mahal Hotel... a tourist trap
I was left at while my Indian partner had to do some private business. I was constantly
haggled by beggers, and other very pushey street sales people, eagerly trying to
relieve me of my spare change. |
This carriage appears to be lined in Gold and beautifully
decorated. The Taj Mahal hotel is in the background. This is where one can go to
Elephantine Island to visit the caves. One of the more beautiful aspects of India. |
On our way back from the Taj Mahal hotel, I asked
to stop so I can get this view of the coastline. |
Either on our way back or to visit a business contact.
I snapped this picture during a section where there was little traffic. There aren't
so many of these sections. |
Looking out the window of the car, a scene from
Downtown Bombay, now called Mumbai. |
The Famous Gateway of India, where in 1947, India
gained independence from Britian, and this was where they left from. |
A funkey Hotel we passed on the way. Typical rates
to stay in one of these, is about $10 US per day... 420 Rupees in Indian currency. |
Another view from the waterfront taken near the
Taj Mahal Hotel. |
On our way back, I snapped this picture of the Mumbai
skyline. |
Same place as above, but different direction, gives
you an idea of the immense size of Mumbai. |
On my way back, This cought my attention. It's one
of many temples in India. |
Yet another temple out at the end of a jetty... |
Another shot of the waterfront, about halfway back
from our business meeting near the Taj Mahal.. |
Some more of Bombay's famous Snarled traffic. |
